About

I'm Rachel and I created Brown Bear Wellness to help provide practical, easy to follow information to help you take control of your wellbeing. I offer a variety of Workshops and Classes with the aim to help people understand of the importance of nutrition and movement.

About Brown Bear Wellness

My Story

I spent 14 years working in Nursing in both Ireland and Australia. Upon returning from Australia I embarked on a Masters in Food Science, Nutrition & Health, as this is an area I am greatly interested in.

Nutrition is a fundamental part of our overall health and wellbeing but can often be poorly understood.

​The importance of movement and exercise in supporting healthy ageing was evident throughout my career as a nurse. 

In recent times I have gained a qualification as an Accredited Personal Trainer, embarking on this course helped me to better understand biomechanics and exercise programming. Exercise and movement also promote health and wellbeing. 

​I have created this website to provide visitors with information on the variety of services I offer as well as provide some useful, easy to digest (pardon the pun!) advice through my blog.

Exercise only plans/ Online PT
Exercise only plans/ Online PT Tailored exercise only gym or home workout plans. Workouts are bespoke for the individual client and are delivered via an app which can be accessed at any time. Regular check in and follow up is provded for clients and plans can be reviewed as required Coaching is sold in 4 week blocks with no ongoing commitment required beyond each cycle. This allows me to provide structure and support for you while measuring and tracking progress regularly, combining clear focused training with the flexibility to continue as it suits your goals. Postnatal Exercise Classes
Postnatal Exercise Classes These postnatal exercise classes are available face to face and online, to cater for the individual needs of the client. Mums & Cubs is an 8 week return to exercise programme for mums 6 weeks-12 months PP Mum & Me Bootacmp is a higher intensity calss for mums who are 16 weeks + PP or who have previously competed a level 1 post natal class. Babies are welcome in all of my postnatal classes. Learn More
Baby Yoga
Baby Yoga 5 week baby yoga course. All participants recieve a certificate of completion. This course focuses on postnatal recovery for mum and nurtures the bond between parent and baby. Online and 1:1 sessions can be facilitated also. Dads are welcome and dad only events are held on occassiosns. Learn More
Workshops & Talks
Workshops & Talks Workshops are thoughtfully designed to meet the unique needs of your team. Each workshop is a bespoke health coaching experience combing evidence based inights with enaging discussion and dedicated time for questions. I work collaboratively with you to understand the sepcific challenges of your worksforce, ensuring every workshop is relevant, impactful and tailored to your organisation. For those seeking more support and longer term commitment one:one or small group coaching and follow up services can be arranged.
