I'm Rachel and I created Brown Bear Wellness to help provide practical, easy to follow information to help you take control of your wellbeing. I offer a variety of Workshops and Classes with the aim to help people understand of the importance of nutrition and movement.My Story
I spent 14 years working in Nursing in both Ireland and Australia. Upon returning from Australia I embarked on a Masters in Food Science, Nutrition & Health, as this is an area I am greatly interested in.
Nutrition is a fundamental part of our overall health and wellbeing but can often be poorly understood.
The importance of movement and exercise in supporting healthy ageing was evident throughout my career as a nurse.
In recent times I have gained a qualification as an Accredited Personal Trainer, embarking on this course helped me to better understand biomechanics and exercise programming. Exercise and movement also promote health and wellbeing.
I have created this website to provide visitors with information on the variety of services I offer as well as provide some useful, easy to digest (pardon the pun!) advice through my blog.
